Eagles To Wear ‘Batik’ White Jersey Against Iceland

Date:

The Super Eagles will do Nigeria’s new batik-like white jersey against Iceland, for their second group match at this year’s World Cup, despite it being a ‘home’ fixture for the three-time African champions.

Green has been Nigeria’s traditional home colour, and it was reckoned all along they would continue in same format at Russia 2018, but FIFA has confirmed that the Eagles will wear light green jerseys with bold white V-shaped patterns drawn on it when they face Iceland.

The Eagles latest away kit looks reminiscent to the one the national team used at the 1994 World Cup, and Nigeria will don the design against Iceland at Volgograd Arena on June 22.
For the second group match against Nigeria, Iceland outfield players will be dressed in blue jerseys and the goalkeeper will wear black.

Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, the three goalkeepers certain to be named to Nigeria’s World Cup roster barring injury will wear orange shirts against Iceland.

Football Association of Iceland published on their official website the colours of jerseys to be worn by the national team of the Nordic country and their opponents during the group stage.

Iceland outfield players will be in white costume both in their opener against Argentina and their last Group D match with Croatia while the goalkeepers will wear red.
