Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi has given thanks to God for making it possible for him to return to action early than feared, as he declared that ‘Jehovah is the reason’ behind his recovery.

Onazi played all 90 minutes of his side’s 2-1 win away to Antalyaspor on Saturday, following a recent injury that knocked him out for two weeks, and he quickly took to social media to cite the divine role in his quick return to action.

While also hailing Trabzonspor’s teeming fans for the role they played in ensuring the side picked another useful victory in the Turkish Super Lig, Onazi further stated that he was happy to help his side win his comeback game.

Onazi returned to the field of play for the first time in two weeks after fully recovering from a hamstring injury as he helped Trabzonspor to a hard-fought 2-1 win away at Antalyaspor.

The former SS Lazio midfielder started his 15th league game of the season as his side came from a goal down to win the match, with Burak Yilmaz and Yusuf Yazici providing the goals.

Onazi was on for the entire match duration and had a game rating of 6.5, completing 83% of his passes, whilst also making four clearances in the match.

Afterwards, he took to Twitter to reveal the level of his delight after returning to the field and thanked God for helping him return to doing what he loves best.

“Very important victory away from home; feels really good to be back doing what I know how to do best. Thank you, Lord. Jehovah is the reason,” Onazi twitted.
