Simy’ Pledges More Humility, After New Found Fame

Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) has promised to remain his humble self, despite the new rave of fame and accolades coming his way.

‘Simy’ admits it was a dream come true for him to debut against DR Congo on Monday, following which he has received massive wave of accolades, but he promised not to allow it get to his head.

He said: “It was a dream come true. It was a moment of honour for me and I am so happy. I am proud of what I have been able to achieve and the opportunity given to me.

“I think it was a good debut and a good game. The result was okay and it’s something positive, we have to keep working hard to prove more.

“For me, I just have to keep working hard and see how things turn out. I think the coach has a lot of experience and he knows what is good for the team.

“So far, so good, we have been working hard and things have been moving in the right direction.

“I am so happy with the kind words coming from him. I just think I can keep improving and see how things will go.”
