Abdu Maikaba, the new head coach of Wikki Tourists, has shared his motivation for joining the club despite its current status in the Nigeria National League (NNL). Maikaba expressed a deep sense of loyalty and gratitude towards the Bauchi-based club, which played a crucial role in his early coaching career.
“Wikki Tourists is the team that gave me the platform to grow as a coach. I will never forget that,” Maikaba stated. “I feel a strong responsibility to contribute to bringing Wikki Tourists back to the NPFL because a club of this calibre does not belong in the lower leagues. Our service is needed to help Wikki Tourists return to the premiership.”
Maikaba emphasized his commitment to achieving this goal in the upcoming season. “That’s what makes it necessary for me to decide to take on this challenge this season. Our focus is to get Wikki Tourists back to where they rightfully belong,” he added.
With a clear objective and a personal connection to the club, Maikaba is set to lead Wikki Tourists in their quest to regain their status in the Nigerian Professional Football League.
