Adepoju Speaks on Shooting Stars League Campaign

Date:

Former Nigerian international, Mutiu Adepoju has reviewed the league campaign of Shooting Stars thus far in the Nigerian Premier League. The Ibadan based side are currently 6th on the log with 49 points thus far.

Adepoju said that the team had a good start to the season, but they had a bad patch in the middle and are now trying to end the season on a high note.

He also added that the team could make it into continental football, suggesting that the league title would be tough, but not impossible.

In his exact words, Adepoju said:

“They are not doing badly. In the beginning, they were doing well. Later, they had some bad games during the season, like a few games which made them to go a little bit backward. But now, they have really come back and they are really looking into how to end the season very well and probably in the CAF Confederations cup, because the league might be a tough order”.

“But then it’s not impossible, looking at the distance between the first and their position, It’s not much, it’s just a matter of two or three games. The teams in front, they will not wait, most especially Rangers, when they have seen themselves at the top, they will not want to leave. But I still believe that things are working well”.

Shooting sit just 5 points off the top spot, and are set to host 15th placed Sunshine Stars on Sunday in a bid to continue their charge.
