The 2023 African Cup of Nations has been a beautiful display in all ramifications. The football has been beautiful, the culture has been on display and it has been one for the record books.
Later tonight, the competition draws it’s curtain as host nation Ivory Coast take on Nigeria.
Although, this is a game that has already been played in the group stages (a Nigeria win), this one has a lot more at stake.
The two losing semi-finalists (two teams) will each receive $2.5 million. This means that South Africa and Cape Verde have settled for $2.5m each.
$11m is set to be unevenly split between Nigeria and Ivory Coast when all is over, with the winners taking 7 million of that money pie.
The ultimate question is who takes how much ?
The final is set to take place at the 60,000 capacity Alassane Outtara Stadium, in the capital city of Abidjan.
