Aiteo Cup Women final goal scorer, Juliet Sunday said getting the only goal that gave her team victory in the game was possible because she took the advice of the coach during their locker room half time talk.
Despite winning the trophy, Sunday insists that Ibom Angels are a really strong side but it took hard work for them to conquer at the end of 90 minutes. “They are a very good side and it was a difficult game but God was on our side today”
Rivers Angels failed to control the tempo of the game but ran out winners in the end and Sunday says her coach (Edwin Okon) was really instrumental in making that happen. “He told me to join that attack, make the game very close so I can get a goal and I did exactly what my coach told me and I got my goal.
Despite winning the Aiteo Cup trophy, Sunday says the dream of the club is to win a double this season. “The league is still on so what we can do is try and win the league so we can have a double trophy to present to the people of Rivers state.”
