IK Start striker Akinyemi Adeleke has described the happiness he felt scoring his first goal for the Club in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Lillestrom at the Soer Arena.
The forward who recently moved to the Norwegian top flight side from Ventspils told Footballlive.ng that he was pleased to have opened his goal-scoring account for Start.
“I felt a lot of emotion scoring my first goal for IK Start. The assist was provided by Afeez Aremu who has really helped me settle down here,” Akinyemi Adeleke said to Footballlive.ng.
“I’m enjoying the city, I feel good in this group of players and every day I’m feeling better and more comfortable in my surroundings.
“I’m starting to get stronger physically as well, so my confidence is growing with each match.”
The forward said he had found the level of play in Norway quite challenging to date.
“The level of football is really competitive and I find the league to be very physical as well,” he said.
“In the past two games we’ve been strong and fighting.
“It shows you that you have to always be focused for all 90 minutes in this competition.”
