Remo Stars Player, Alimi Sikiru has spoken out on being physically harassed by shooting stars fans in their NPFL face off on Sunday. The striker was sent off in a fierce derby between Remo Stars and Shooting Stars, a game Remo lost 2-0.
Alimi was sent off in the 78th minute of the encounter, as Remo were sent packing courtesy of a Christian Pyagbara brace.
The striker was allegedly spat on, poured water and labeled a thief by the shooting stars supporters.
Alimi took to social media after the defeat and stated that he had played in multiple derbies with different clubs, and he understands the chants are a part of the game. The 27 year old said he was physically abused on the night, and that was uncalled especially for the fact that he was a former player for the Ibadan based side.
He also mentioned that there was a lot to say, but the time has not come for those things to be said.
