Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed that he will prefer the services of former German international Mesut Ozil to that of Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi when the gunners file out against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League on Saturday at the Wembley stadium.
The gunners will be hoping to secure all maximum points against the Spurs as they continue their fight to secure a top-four spot that will see them return to the UEFA Champions League after two seasons of being away in the Europa League.
The former Three Lions and Arsenal star have stated that it will be ideal for head coach Unai Emery to trust German star Mesut Ozil ahead of Nigerian star Alex Iwobi.
Stating his preferred players to start Wright said; “I think he should play Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Lacazette in front and maybe Mesut Ozil behind them as the three and then you can have Guendouzi, Torriera, and Xhaka in the midfield three but I’m not sure what the coach is going to do but this is what I will like to see with Ozil’s form.”
Despite losing their last two games in the Premier League, Wright has stated that Arsenal needs to be careful against Tottenham and must be ready to take advantage of the inconsistent Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. “Bournemouth was terrible and Tottenham would not be giving them the time and space.
I feel that Arsenal needs to go at them because they are a bit shaken having lost their last two games. They need to put their defense and goalkeeper on pressure early in the match. Arsenal needs to take every advantage of the form and inconsistency of Lloris. He said.
