Wydad Casablanca of Morocco midfielder, Michael Babatunde has disclosed that he has set his mind of helping his club reach the final of this year’s CAF Champions League.
Footballlive.ng reports that Babatunde was excited to help his side with an assist that led to their 1-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa last week, thereby finishing top of their group that also had Lobi Stars of Makurdi, and he is now looking beyond the quarter-finals.
Babatunde, who starred for Nigeria at the Brazil 2014 World Cup and twinkled bright in a 3-2 loss to Argentina, believes Wydad have what it takes to reach the final, and says they will not stop short of the last four.
The 26-year-old star said: “I’m very excited with our performance. It was a difficult game for both teams but our quality stood out for us.
“Our first aim was to get past the group stages and now that we have achieved that, we can begin to look at the semi-finals and the final.”
