The Head Coach of Sporting Lagos, Abdullahi Biffo, has admitted that Akwa United’s 2-1 away win last weekend poses a significant threat to his team.
Sporting Lagos suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Rivers United in their last game and currently sits 14th on the table, battling to avoid relegation.
Akwa United is just one point behind them after their victory against Lobi Stars in Lafia.
Reacting to the game, Biffo acknowledged the concern over losing ground but remained determined to keep fighting.
“Losing this match is something to worry about. I know we are going to lose ground and every team below us is fighting seriously.
I saw Akwa United go to Lobi Stars and get a win; that’s a threat to us,” he said.
“Nevertheless, it’s not over. There is still five more matches to play. Now we have to put our heads together and stay positive.
We have to keep fighting until the last day, and we will keep pushing until we get it right,” Biffo concluded.
