Sunshine Stars head coach, Kennedy Boboye has said that his ongoing spell with the club has not gotten the ideal start. Sunshine Stars were marginally ousted by Sporting Lagos as they succumbed to a Pascal Durugbor header in the 19th minute.
Boboye said that it has not been the best period as he had not been able to fully implement his ideas into the players, also adding that the team just want to see out the season. He also suggested that the team would get new players at the end of the season, but not a total overhaul of the team.
In his exact words, Boboye said:
“It hasn’t been wonderful because I couldn’t inject what I wanted to inject into the team. And the people I met on ground, it’s not like they are bad, but for me, I have my own style of playing. I have players that are suitable to my own style of play, but we’ll keep pushing to see ourselves to the end of the season”.
“It’s not going to be a total overhauling, but at least we’re going to inject good numbers of players to the team”.
Sunshine Stars currently sit 16th with 35 points, and they will now take on title contenders Enyimba at the Akure township stadium this weekend.
