Sunshine Stars of Akure produced one of the best performance of the season as they thrashed Lobi Stars of Makurdi 3-0 in Nigeria Professional Football League rescheduled match on Thursday.
The Owena waves welcomed the Solomon Ogbeide side to the Akure Township Stadium with loss in the previous meeting 1-0 still fresh in their memory.
The first half ended with both side struggled to hit top gear and unable get in control of the game .
However in the second 45 minutes Sunshine Stars proved they wanted the maximum points more than their visitors as they continue to pile on the pressure.
The opening goal came in the 74th minutes from Chibundu Amah few minutes after he replaced Kolade Adeniji.
In the 80th minutes Chibundu Amah gets his second of the game and extends Sunshine’s lead which sent Lobi’s bench into confusion.
Chibundu Amah grabbed his hattrick three minutes later after tapping home Fuad Ekelojuoti’s pass to complete the fastest hattrick in the history of Nigeria Professional Football League.
The win moves Sunshine Stars from 10th position to 5th on the log of Group A with 19 points from 14 games , while Lobi Stars stays in 4th position with a point ahead of the Kabir Dogo’s tutored side.
