Dessers Scores As Rangers Grab Three Points

In a thrilling encounter at Ibrox Stadium, Rangers secured a vital 3-1 victory over Hibernian, extending their lead at the top of the table and showcasing their determination to maintain their title charge.

 

The match began with a moment of frustration for Rangers as James Tavernier missed a penalty in the 21st minute, denied by the Hibernian goalkeeper. However, Tavernier quickly redeemed himself, breaking the deadlock in the 26th minute with a clinical finish to give Rangers the lead.

 

Hibernian responded just before halftime, as Myziane Maolida found the back of the net in the second minute of stoppage time, leveling the score with a well-taken goal assisted by Thody Elie Youan, injecting a sense of uncertainty into the contest.

 

Rangers regained their advantage in dramatic fashion deep into stoppage time of the first half, as Cyril Dessers capitalized on an opportunity to put his side back in front with a composed finish, marking his 13th league goal of the season and giving Rangers a crucial lead heading into halftime.

 

As the second half unfolded, both teams fought fiercely for control of the game, with Hibernian pushing for an equalizer and Rangers looking to extend their lead. Rangers sealed the victory in the 85th minute when Rabbi Motondo found the back of the net to make it 3-1, with Dujon Sterling providing the assist, ensuring all three points would remain at Ibrox Stadium.

 

With this important win, Rangers solidify their position at the top of the table with 73 points from 30 games, while Hibernian sits in 7th place with 38 points from 31 games played. As the season progresses, Rangers will look to maintain their momentum and continue their pursuit of the league title, while Hibernian will aim to climb higher in the standings and finish the season on a positive note.
