The Super Eagles are billed to share a total sum of $90,000 after Monday’s international friendly against DR Congo, regardless of the outcome of the match – win, lose or draw – at Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
It was gathered on authority that each of the 30 players in the provisional list, including five that will be dropped after the game, will go home with $3,000; which is said to be part of efforts by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to further motivate the lads.
Already, they have each received lodgings into their bank accounts, being money owed them in bonuses and allowances during the World Cup build-up, such that Monday’s payments would be an additional boost to their patriotism.
Monday’s clash at Adokiye Amiesimake Stadium is the seventh time the Eagles battle the Leopards of DR Congo on the international scene.
It was also the final chance for some of Nigeria’s fringe players to prove themselves worthy of a World Cup place in Russia with the Eagles.
