Elderson Echiejile may be staying in France after all despite cancelling his contract – mutually – at AS Monaco according to reports.
Echiejile, who returned to AS Monaco after the world cup, was released by the club after four seasons, although he spent most of it away on loan.
The player’s desire to stay put in France was reported by SCORENigeria crediting the scoop to a source close to the defender.
“He is most likely to remain in France. He has had several offers and he is studying them and very soon his destination will be public,” the source disclosed.
Elderson started his career in Europe at French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennes before he moved to Sporting Braga, where he enjoyed his longest spell with a single club.
