Former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike has missed out on an opportunity of a summer transfer to Qatar, as he had to go for surgery instead.
After failing to play all through last season at Las Palmas of Spain and then got released by Olympiakos of Greece, Emenike opted to quickly go under the surgeon’s knife, but his healing could not come early enough for the Qatar switch to pull through.
Consequently, another Eagles striker, Victor Anichebe (The Beast) has now stepped in as the lad to replace Emenike in the deal to Qatar, which appears loaded with lots of values from oil money.
It will be a massive career revival for Anichebe, after his short-lived stint in China, as he had also been linked to a top club in Turkey, but opted to face the Middle East interest.
“Initially, they wanted Emmanuel Emenike but his recent successful surgery knocked off the deal. However, the Qatari club are turning to Anichebe,” a credible source disclosed.
