Nigeria Premier Football League club Katsina United has received the go-ahead from FIFA to resume signing players as FIFA has officially lifted the transfer ban imposed on them last month.
The ban was originally placed due to the club’s failure to meet financial obligations to Nigerian player Muhammadu Sulley Salamoun, a situation that developed under previous management.
In response, Katsina United swiftly engaged in discussions with Salamoun to resolve the issue. Their proactive approach led to an agreement that satisfied FIFA’s conditions, enabling the matter to be settled amicably, as reported by TruthNG.
Subsequently, FIFA issued a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirming the lifting of the transfer ban.
“We (FIFA) take note from the mentioned correspondence that the creditor Muhammadu Sulley Salamoun has received the amount due by the respondent Katsina United FC, in accordance with the decision by FIFA.
“As a consequence, we inform you that the present proceedings against the respondent Katsina United are hereby closed and its ban to register any new players has been lifted.”
With the ban now removed, Katsina United is free to engage in the transfer market once again.
