World soccer governing body, FIFA has taken up the gauntlet of paying special attention to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), as global egg heads in Zurich, Switzerland are now set to monitor the country closer than ever.
This much was disclosed in a letter of acknowledgement issued by FIFA, to confirm their acceptance of efforts by Nigeria’s government to douse the NFF crises and avoidance of a ban, after Amaju Pinnick was recognised as the nation’s soccer body’s president.
Consequently, special focus is now expected to be given Nigeria by FIFA, which declared on Monday that it will not ban the country, after the federal government made it clear, it only recognises Pinnick and his executive committee in charge of football in the country.
The global body stated on their website: “In view of these circumstances, FIFA deems that the conditions set by the decision of the Bureau of the FIFA Council have now been met and consequently the suspension of the NFF will not take effect.
FIFA will continue to closely monitor the situation in order to ensure that FIFA’s rules and regulations are fully adhered to.”
