Changchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has returned to his base for the next phase of pre-season training, few days after spending quality time on holiday with his wife and children in Greece.
During his sojourn in The Land of Zeus, Ighalo spent time mostly on the beach and went sightseeing with his family, in order to push aside the agony he felt over Nigeria’s early exit from the World Cup.
It would be recalled that, after Nigeria’s ouster at Russia 2018, Ighalo took responsibility for his missed chances in the crucial last group match against Argentina, and apologised to the nation.
“I apologise to Nigeria. I apologise to my team mates. I take responsibility for this game because if I had taken those chances I had that would have made it a different ball game now. But that is football and life has to continue,” Ighalo stated.
