Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo stepped up his effort to reel out emotionally charged and philosophical messages every Monday, and he used the occasion of his debut at his new club to make a point about leaving good marks for posterity.
Footballlive.ng gathered that Ighalo, who got off the bench for his debut at the weekend, was excited to start off on the winning note with Shenhua, who once paid the wages of fellow-Nigerian striker, Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins (Obagol).
Ighalo got his Shenhua debut on Saturday, in a 3-0 win against Dalian Yifang, as his side went out for their final build-up game for the new season, one the first day of which they face city rivals Shanghai SIPG.
The Shanghai derby will be Ighalo’s coach and mentor, Quique Sánchez Flores’ first competitive game with the club, since his appointment to take over the Chinese Super League outfit in December.
Flores kept loyal to Ighalo, who also played under him at Watford of England, such that the Super Eagles star might feel the need to also inspire himself with the sweet words he rolled out of social media.
Ighalo stated: “One day, you’ll be just a memory for some people. Do your best to be a good one. #Inspiremonday #MondayMotivation.”
