Germany-based Super Eagles invitee, Jamilu Collins has told www.footballive.ng his absence from the Super Eagles squad against the Pirates of Seychelles on Saturday was due to a failed late fitness test due to some pains in his leg coupled with Coach Rohr decision not to take a risk on him.
Collins, who was set for his Eagles debut, failed a late fitness test and so was replaced at right fullback by Chidozie Awaziem from FC Porto for the game.
He told *foòtballlive “I had a little bit of pain in my leg, so it was not something I should risk and also the coach did not want to risk it.”
Collins was however not disappointed but convinced that Coach’s decision not to risk him was the right thing to do as he would be better positioned to play to his full potential in the next match which he said he was already looking forward to.
He concluded by speaking on the team’s result in Victoria, Seychelles, “It was a good result for the whole country and the team and I praise my teammates for putting together such a great performance. Now we look forward to also winning our next games.”
