Niger Tornadoes head coach, Majin Mohammed, has emphasized the importance of early preparation for the upcoming 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season to enhance the team’s performance and avoid the relegation struggles they faced in the recently concluded season.
The Minna-based team narrowly avoided relegation this past season, finishing with a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Sunshine Stars at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Sunday.
Reflecting on the team’s narrow escape from relegation, Coach Majin Mohammed stressed the need for prompt and effective preparation to ensure a stronger performance in the next campaign. “Let’s wait until next season but a stitch in time saves nine,” he told the club’s media team. “Whatever we want to do next season, we need to start early in order to achieve success.”
The club concluded the 2023/24 season with 51 points from 38 matches, and Coach Mohammed is urging the management to initiate the necessary preparations early to build on this foundation and aim for higher achievements next season.
