Despite losing to Morocco U15 in the final of the football event at the 3rd African Youth Games in Algiers, Falconets assistant coach Mansur Abdullahi believes the future of Nigerian football is very bright.
A young and inexperienced Future Eagles side was undone by series of mistakes in either half which gifted their Moroccan counterparts a 3-1 win at the Sidi Moussa Stadium on Friday.
But despite the loss, Mansur thinks that the experience and exposure that the youthful team got in the competition will serve them better in the future.
“We should look beyond the results. We are grooming these boys for the future. Most of them have together since 2016 but every body has been impressed by their ability.
“The experience that they have gained from this competition will serve them better in the future,” Mansur said to Footballlive.ng.
Nigeria won the football gold at the last edition of the African Youth Games in Gaborone, Botswana.
