Twenty two year old MFM FC skipper and the only regular center back in the NPFL who has played two seasons or more and is yet to see a red card or miss a game due to suspension as charged his teammates to fight for all three points when Rangers International come calling on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium.
Stanley Opara who in his three seasons in the NPFL has received only four yellow cards cumulatively told www.footballlive.ng, “Rangers International are a team we must respect but not fear. They are doing well on the continent but this is a match we have to take all three points as we look to achieve our ambitions this season.”
When asked about his decision to stay at MFM FC despite several better offers he received, Opara said, “I spoke to my Coach, my agents and we reached a decision to stay because of how critical playing club football regularly is over this next eighteen months as I look to make the CHAN Eagle and Olympics Team for my Country.”
The cleanest defender who was invited to the National team last year for the friendly match against Atletico Madrid concluded by calling on MFM FC fans to come out and create an atmosphere that would help the Olukoya Boys to a much needed home win.
