Former Nigerian U-20 star Michael Olaitan was on the score sheet in Greece as Apollon Pontu trashed Irodotus in the Greek second division on Wednesday at the 6, 500 capacity Stadio Kalamarias in the city of Thessaloniki.
The former Nigerian youth international opened scoring for the home team in the 22nd minute before Leonidas Kyvelidis made in two nil just before the break. Irodotus was reduced to 10 men in the 53rd minute with Christos Kasapakis receiving his marching orders.
Olaitan has scored three goals in 12 appearances this season only second to Leonidas Kyvelidis who has four goals in 19 appearances this season. Apollon Pontu’s next game is an away visit t0 4th placed Kerkyra.
With the win, Apollon Pontu moves to the 5th position on the log 11 points behind table toppers Volos NFC as they continue to push for a place in the promotion battle.
