Former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu has faulted the NFF after the team’s current run of poor results, with the latest coming from back to back draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Chukwu, in a chat with Brila FM, expressed his displeasure with the situation of things in the national team.
The former Coach advocated that NPFL players should also be included in the national team set up, and suggested that the team needs to spend more time together in order to get their chemistry right.
“Those matches, I’m not happy about them, our coach is not serious,” Chukwu said. “The NFF themselves are not serious.
“Our coach should live here with us and monitor our local league and players and select those he can train and camp for one month and then mix them with foreign players, then we have a team.”
“If we are blaming, I will start from the NFF. He is Nigeria’s coach not Portugal coach. He should stay here and monitor our league and our players.”
“He cannot come here today, we have a match and he calls thirty foreign based, then next match he sees another foreign based player, and invites him. No, it doesn’t work that way.”
“He cannot invite some players today, they train and play tomorrow, then after the match they disperse. What kind of team is that? They don’t even know one another.”
