Nigeria Football Fedration (NFF) have hurriedly rolled out cash to pay players and officials of the female national team, Super Falcons their outstanding daily allowances.
In what could be a panic reaction to the Falcons’ opening group loss to South Africa on Sunday, footballlive.ng gathered that the NFF rushed on Monday to pay the players and officials money being owed them from their pre-competition training camp.
It was gathered further that the payments were for daily allowances of the team’s camping programme at Sol Benin Sports Complex in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire prior to the tournament.
However, feelers from The Glasshouse indicated further that more money is still being sourced by the NFF to offset the daily allowances for the team’s camping in Epe, Lagos State.
Along the line, a source close to the team stressed that the Falcons are not entitled to any match bonus from their defeat by South Africa.
It means for the Falcons to earn their first shower of match bonuses at the 2019 AWCON in Ghana they must beat Zambia on Wednesday in their second group match, and get into contention for a semi-final ticket.
