Nigeria international Junior Ajayi was a second half substitute as Al Ahly suffered a 1-0 defeat against title contenders Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
Brazilian winger Keno scored the only goal of the game when he curled a spectacular effort into the top corner in the 14th minute of the game.
The Red Devils were left undone by their criminal misses in the keenly contested battle at the Petrosport Stadium (al-Qāhirah (Cairo)).
Ahly are now third with 58 points two adrift of Zamalek and Pyramids FC who have played two games more.
The hosts attacked en masse forcing their rivals to defend deep in their final third.
Former Shooting Stars and CS Sfaxien forward Ajayi came off the bench to bring more firepower but he couldn’t break Pyramids FC defence as Ahly failed to get anything out of this game.
Ajayi who narrowly missed out on the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia has continued to develop in Egypt after recovering from an injury.
He joined Al Ahly from Tunisian league giants CS Sfaxien in 2016.
