The vice chairman of Lobi stars football club Mike Idoko, has said the gates at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium will be thrown open to give fans the opportunity to watch and support the CAF Champions League representatives when they take on their Cameroonian on today .
“It is true that we will throw the gates open for our brothers and sisters. We need their support because we want to make everyone happy.
On the choice of Enugu as their new home in the continental competition, Idoko hinted that apart from sharing the same border, the relationship between Enugu and Benue people which has remained cordial over the years has also brought about success in their endeavour., hence the decision.
“When CAF asked us to choose our venue, we had no doubt that Enugu was the rightful place to accept”. “We believe that our coming to Enugu will shower success on us”.
The top football administrator explained the reason that necessitated their relocation to Enugu.
“Our decision to move elsewhere to prosecute our games came as a result of the on-going renovation work of the runway at the airport in Benue state. “But, i want to assure that we at home in Enugu”, concludes Idoko.
Lobi Stars’ contingents arrived safely on time yesterday to strategize ahead of the match.
