NPFL Fines Rangers 5 Million for Matchday Violations

Rangers International FC has been fined 5 million naira by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for multiple breaches during their Match Day 35 fixture against Enyimba International FC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on June 9, 2024.

The fines were imposed for over-ticketing, inadequate security, poor crowd control measures, and allowing unauthorized access to restricted areas. Specifically, the penalties include:

  • 2 million naira for over-ticketing.
  • 1 million naira for inadequate security.
  • 1 million naira for failing to implement effective crowd control measures.
  • 1 million naira for failing to prevent unauthorized access.

Rangers International FC has 48 hours to appeal the decision or accept the fines and pay within seven working days.

The NPFL also ordered the club to improve its crowd control mechanisms for future games.
