Rivers United attacking midfielder, Nelson Esor Okwa has praised coach Stanley Eguma for handling of the side’s defeats to Wikki Tourists and Lobi Stars victory over Remo Stars.
The Pride of Rivers pipped Remo Stars 1-0 in the week 13 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday to move to seventh on the Group A log with 16 points.
“There was concern in the team after three straight defeats but Coach Stanley Eguma did well to manage the situation.”
“We played a very good game. We were against a great opponent, who has a lot of talents, and wanted to have the ball but we have controlled every facet of the game,” Footballlive.ng reports Okwa as saying.
“Remo Stars might have come at us in the second half but it’s normal, they had to risk it, and we’ve also had our chances.
“We should also note the huge save made by Abiodun Akande from Victor Mbaoma. It was of the highest level, what we’re used to.
“The team is fine physically. If not we wouldn’t have managed to play a good game against a team as good as Remo Stars.”
