NPFL: Rangers thrashed Kwara United in Ilorin to go top of Group A

Rangers international secured an impressive 1-2 away win in rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League game against Kwara united on Wednesday.

 

The Flying Antelopes came into the game with impressive form, including one of the best away records in the division this season .

The Flying Antelopes scored twice in the first half through Ifeanyi George (23rd minutes) who connected superbly with corner kick.

Talisman Aguda Godwin added the second four minutes later, as he benefited from a defensive error from Kwara United defennders.

The Aiteo Cup holders held on to their two goals advantage as they ended the first half as the better team.

In the second half Afonja warriors came out looking for a break through but the Gbenga Ogunbote boys defended comfortably before the home side finally find the back of the net in the 68th minute through Ebenezer Odeyemi.

Ifeayin Egwim came on in the 88 minutes for Michael Uchebo as the Rangers successfully to run down the clock .

The win took Rangers to the top of Group A log with 24 points from 11 games , a point ahead of second place MFM who has played three game more.

Next for Rangers is Sunshine Stars on Sunday then followed by a table topping clash with MFM in Enugu.
