Obuh: NPFL’s Continued Delay Blocks Flow Of Income

Date:

Former Kwara United of Ilorin coach, John Obuh has raised another angle to worries over the delayed start of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, as he says the prolonged hiatus is affecting the flow of income for many stakeholders.

Obuh, who is yet to get another job since leaving The Afonja Warriors earlier this year, reckoned that not playing actively has stopped the flow of money for players, coaches and officials of all clubs, as well as match organisers, referees and stadium managers.

Footballlive.ng gathered further that Obuh, who has also coached two of Nigeria’s youth national teams, Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles, equally expressed dismay over the logjam that has ensued between the NPFL and Nigerian National League (NNL) over clubs to be promoted.

Obuh posited: “I think the league not starting is really affecting lots of people whose livelihood depend on the league. “From players, to coaches to even the stadium managers, if the league is not on these people will have nothing doing.

“I think it is high time the organizers of this league sit at a round table and resolve these issues so that the league can start and move forward.”
