Ogbe Relishes Niger Tornadoes’ Form At Ahlan Cup

Niger Tornadoes of Minna coach, Bernard Ogbe is still relishing his side’s battling efforts at the recent Ahlan Pre-season competition in Kano.

Although his side eventually lost to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi in the semi-finals, Ogbe said he was happy that they scored 15 goals and conceded only two in the competition.

Footballlive.ng reports that Ogbe went on to describe the Ahlan Cup as an eye opener that helped him try new tactics and discover fresh things about his players.

Tornadoes looked set for another victory after Otuke Michael gave them early lead, before Tourists struck with goals by Mohammed Mohammed and Idris Guda to dump The Ikon Allah boys out of the tournament.

Despite failing to reach the Ahlan Cup final last weeknd, Ogbe praised his side for their impressive performances at the tournament.

While aleging that his side were affected by poor decisions by match officials, Ogbe also declared that his players must continue to work hard.

Ogbe expatiated: “I want to appreciate my players which we quickly assembled and are doing fantastically well.

“However we are not going to get carried away with the performance of the team. It’s still team in progress.

“We will continue working very hard till the team is ready before the commencement of Nigeria professional football league next year.”
