Hapoel Be’er Shave of Israel midfielder, John Ugochukwu Ogu has issued a solemn and deeply emotional prayer for God’s protection and grace for him during the new season at his base in the Land of Milk and Honey.
Ogu, who was in top form for the Super Eagles during Nigeria’s build-up matches to the World Cup, but never got to play a single minute in Russia, gave his supplications for God’s hand of guidance as he headed back to his club for preseason.
Ogu, who is fondly called ‘Suker’ by his close friends, took to Twitter to express his deepest thoughts and hopes, with a plea for divine favour and blessings all through the impending season.
The towering left-footed former Academica de Coimbra of Portugal star restated his love for God and appreciation of all that he has gained through the Creator, and prayed that the Almighty will never leave him nor forsake him.
Ogu tweeted: “Dear God, as I leave for the 2018/2019 season. I asked that Your favour and blessings never depart from me. Thank you for all you have done for me. I love you Lord.”
