Okpala Confirms Coaching Application, Delivers Manifesto

Date:

Former Nigerian international, Sylvanus Okpala has confirmed that he applied for the role of the super eagles gaffer. The Nigerian football federation had recently advertised publicly to suitable candidates, and reports suggests that a few notables are in the running.

Sylvanus confirmed that he indeed applied for the role. He then went on to discuss what he would be adding to the team if he was appointed coach. The 62 year old said that he drives a winning mentality in players and he is sure to bring that into the national team setup, as well the zeal and determination to always perform.

In his exact words, Okapala said:

“One of those things that we bring to the table first of all is the winning mentality. The zeal to win, the determination to win and perform. The will to win. The football I play, i never believe in any game, going to any game I will lose. I always try to give all I have in every game”.

“If you go and watch my history, I say if you follow both here and abroad, what’s in the national team. So when you have done that, you have given all your best in the game. And if you lose, then you don’t regret much. You cannot sit down and say, I could remember I would have done this, I would have done that. Because all you have supposed to have done, you have done it. That is my character and purpose”.

The portal for application had been closed already and early reports indicates that there should be a new coach in the coming days.
