Enyimba International’s outgoing captain and goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the club’s management, coaching staff, teammates, and fans after playing his final match for the team. Following Enyimba’s victory over Plateau United, Ojo reflected on his time with the People’s Elephant, describing it as a pivotal period in his career and personal development.
Ojo, who is set to join Sudanese club Al Merreikh next season, shared his appreciation for the support and opportunities he received during his tenure at Enyimba. He emphasized that his experience with the Aba-based club has shaped him into the player and person he is today.
“I feel good, I feel happy. I thank God that it ended well for me and for the club. I’m grateful for all the love and support they showed me throughout my stay in Enyimba. They made me who I am today. I owe Enyimba and the whole Abia state everything in my life. The joy in my heart right now is immense, and I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude.”
Ojo further acknowledged the importance of the relationships he built with his teammates and the dedication of the entire team, especially during a challenging season filled with pressures and obstacles.
“They should continue with the fight because, as you can see, we had a lot of challenges this season. There was a lot of pressure and many attacks against the team. But I thank God for the resilience of our players. We talked to ourselves and decided to keep fighting till the end. Our determination paid off, as evidenced by our victory. I’ve spoken to my teammates and encouraged them to continue from where we left off. I wish them all the best next season.”
