Former Benin Republic international, Razak Omotoyossi has spoken after a shock 2-1 win for the nation over Nigeria. The win sees Benin jump to the top of group C in CAF world cup qualifying series.
Razak started by apologizing to Nigerians for the defeat, he then said this game should be a wake up call for Nigeria.
“Yeah, let me say sorry about that. And we’re still brothers, so let’s just take it that way. But this is what I want to be happening. So this is how everybody can take it serious. Now Nigeria knows where they made their mistakes”, said the former striker.
He also mentioned that he can see some changes, and the teams should get back to work and not underrate any opposition.
“And I can see small changes, which I’m so happy. So, let everybody tie their belts, their shoe, their wrapper to work more harder. So, they will give much Nigerians attention and stop thinking they are just small country. You concentrate if you want, fine. But you don’t just take everybody for granted because you have one player in China”,
Benin are currently top of group C with 7 points, pending the result from other games in the group. Nigeria, however, are fifth with 3 points and could be sixth depending on results from Zimbabwe’s game.
