RSC Anderlecht of Belgium attacker, Henry Onyekuru is not been listed for Sunday’s league match against Club Brugge, thereby ruling him out of a much-expected return from injury this weekend.
After also missing the previous fixture against Racing Charleroi, Onyekuru had been enthusiastic about his chances of making Anderlecht’s squad against Brugge, but his coach had other thoughts for him.
Consequently, Onyekuru’s long-awaited comeback game will have to wait after Anderlecht coach, Hien Vanhaezebrouck said the youngster is not ready yet to return.
Onyekuru had been widely expected to make his comeback in Sunday’ high-profile playoff at Club Brugge, after returning to training, following almost four months out with a major knee injury.
He played 60 minutes for the Anderlecht juniors without any problems to further boost his chances of seeing action, but Vanhaezebrouck said the lad on loan from Everton will not be ready against Club Brugge.
“Onyekuru is not ready yet, Obradovic and Chipciu are out of the game,” said Vanhaezebrouck, whose side are chasing leaders Club Brugge in the Belgian championship playoffs.
