Orban Scores First League Goal in Comeback Win

In an enthralling Ligue 1 encounter at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Olympique Lyon emerged victorious with a commanding 3-1 comeback win over Nantes, showcasing their attacking prowess and resilience.

 

Nantes took an early lead in the 13th minute when Matthis Abline found the back of the net, capitalizing on an assist from Florent Mollet to give the home side the advantage and ignite the crowd’s spirits.

 

However, Lyon refused to be deterred and launched a relentless assault in search of an equalizer. Their efforts paid off in the 75th minute when Alexandre Lacazette leveled the score, showcasing his clinical finishing to restore parity for the visitors.

Lyon quickly seized control of the match and turned the tide in their favor. In the 77th minute, Malick Fofana capitalized on an assist from Ainsley Maitland-Niles to put Lyon ahead, stunning the home fans and shifting the momentum in Lyon’s favor.

 

As Nantes pushed forward in search of a late equalizer, Lyon capitalized and sealed the victory in the 97th minute of stoppage time. Gift Orban, who came on as a substitute for Lacazette, found the back of the net, turning home an assist from Mama Balde to wrap up a comprehensive 3-1 win for Lyon.

 

With this victory, Lyon climbs to 10th place in the Ligue 1 table with 38 points from 28 games, while Nantes remains in 15th place with 28 points from the same number of games played.
