Mbwas Mangut, the technical adviser of Plateau United, has advocated for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to prioritize weather conditions when arranging match fixtures. Mangut emphasized that such consideration would significantly enhance players’ performance on the field.
The Peace Boys’ tactician expressed his frustration following the rescheduling of the matchday 25 fixture between Plateau United and Gombe United, which was moved to 2pm instead of the usual 4pm kickoff time.
In a statement to Plateau United media, Mangut stressed the importance of playing in favorable weather conditions to allow players to showcase their abilities effectively. He highlighted the challenges posed by harsh weather, stating that it could adversely affect the players’ performance.
“To me whatever the organizers determined, I think we should play in a better weather which will help the players express themselves,” he told Plateau United media.
Mangut urged organizers to prioritize scheduling matches during periods of normal weather conditions, believing it would create a more conducive environment for players to excel.
“Once it is harsh, it is a little bit difficult. I think we better play in normal weather.”
