Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) general-secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi has urged soccer fans to pray for the Super Eagles, because he believes the players also need God’s assistance to pull through in South Africa.
Footballlive.ng can report that the NFF scribe acknowledged that hard work and technical astuteness are key assets in the preparation of any team for success, but he added that prayers are need to overcome unexpected developments during games.
Sanusi hinted that the ‘X-Factor’ can go a long way in determining the outcome of a match, hence his charge to Nigerian fans to also put in supplications for spiritual backing of the Eagles in Saturday’s match.
He stressed: “Nigerians should pray extensively for the team because it is not in all instances that techniques and tactics work in football.
“A shot can be taken during a match and it would hit the bar but prayers can make it enter into the goal post.”
