Super Falcons Gear Up for Olympic Qualifier Against South Africa

Date:

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to kick off their preparations for the crucial final round qualifier against South Africa for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Head coach Randy Waldrum has called up a squad of 22 players, mainly comprising foreign-based talents, who will gather in Abuja starting Sunday to begin training for the two-leg contest.

Key regulars such as Asisat Oshoala, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rasheedat Ajibade, Ashleigh Plumptre, Michelle Alozie, and Toni Payne headline the roster.

With aspirations to make a triumphant return to the Olympics after a 16-year hiatus, the Super Falcons are gearing up for the first leg scheduled at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday, April 5.

The high-stakes encounter will be followed by the reverse fixture in Pretoria on Tuesday, April 9, as both teams vie for a coveted spot in the prestigious Olympic tournament.
