The NPFL bans Umuahia Township Stadium and Dan Anyiam Stadium from hosting matches

Date:

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a ban on the Umuahia Township Stadium, home ground of the Abia Warriors, and the Dan Anyiam Stadium, home to Heartland FC.

The ban is attributed to the poor condition of the pitches, prompting the league body to advise both teams to find alternative venues for their matchday 19 fixtures.

Abia Warriors and Heartland FC are expected to select alternative home grounds from NPFL-approved venues in Aba, Enugu, or Port Harcourt before their upcoming matches.

The league authorities suggest reconsideration of the ban if the stadiums take appropriate measures to improve playing surfaces to meet the required standards.
