Arsenal youth team defender, Tolaji Bola was one of The Gunners’ major culprits in a 5-0 loss to Derby County, as he gave away a penalty that contributed a great deal to his side’s defeat in the Premier League 2.
Footballlive.ng reports that Bola, who was one of five Nigerian-born players that starred for The Gunners’ youth team in the encounter, gave away a spot kick in the first half.
Bola was part of a three-man defense that also had Joseph Olowu and recuperating first team captain, Laurent Koscielny, back from an injury that made him miss the 2018 World Cup.
Also in action for Arsenal was 18-year-old Joseph Olowu, who was back for his first match since October 22, also due to injury.
However, even Koscielny’s presence could not save the day, as Derby got in front after 26 minute, when George Thorne converted a penalty provided Bola tackle on Jayden Lawson in The Gunners’ box.
Bukayo Saka got off Arsenal’s bench in the 64th minute and Tobi Omole replaced James Olayinka with 14 minutes left on the clock, but they all could not stop The Rams’ historic massive victory.
