Former Nigerian international, Duke Udi has said the quality of opponents that Nigeria will play in this their upcoming friendlies are very good. Nigeria are set to play Ghana and Mali on the 22nd and 26th of march respectively, both games set to be played in Marrakech.
Udi said the both opponents are very good teams and will help the team prepare for the world cup qualifiers later in the year. He also mentioned that both countries have good players, highlighting that Ghana stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the last world cup.
Udi, in his exact words said:
“Ghana, Mali all have professional players. They’re all top countries. Look at the calibre of players they have, Ghana stopped us from qualifying for the last World Cup. They have more nations cup trophies and they have gotten to the World cup quarter final. Ghana is a grade A national team in Africa, they should not be underrated”.
“These two games are quality games, we’ll play african teams in world cup qualifiers. These games will prepare us for that, and it’ll give us a feel of african countries before we face South Africa in June”.
