Waheed Adebayo Optimistic Ahead of Final Fixture Against Kano Pillars

Date:

Lobi Stars forward Waheed Adebayo has emphasized his team’s determination to secure a victory in their final match of the season against Kano Pillars, despite acknowledging that their destiny in the quest for a continental slot is no longer solely in their hands.

As they head to Kano, Adebayo highlighted the importance of maintaining a winning mindset, even though their qualification for continental competitions now hinges on the outcomes of other matches.

In a statement ahead of the crucial encounter, Adebayo conveyed his optimism and the team’s focus on achieving a positive result.

“We’re going to Kano with a positive mind. But there’s a lot of mathematics now, it’s not just our result that determines, but other results too. If we’re able to get a win and other results favor us, all is good, but we’re going with a mindset of winning,” Adebayo noted.

Lobi Stars, who have had a challenging season where they were once favorites to win the league title with only about eight weeks to the end of the season, understand the complexities involved in their pursuit of a continental slot. The team currently finds itself in a position where a win alone will not suffice; they also need favorable results from other matches to secure their place in continental competitions.

The upcoming match against Kano Pillars, a team known for their formidable home performances, represents a significant challenge for Lobi Stars. However, Adebayo and his teammates remain undeterred and focused on ending their season on a high note.
