Former Goldeagletsn E striker, Hashimu Garba has admitted delight with his appointment as team manager of Wikki Tourist of Bauchi, for which he pledged to bring his wealth of experience and best effort on the job.
Hashimu also promised to work in close harmony with the Bauchi State government-owned team’s coaches and players, as he wants to ensure Wikki Tourist do better in the coming season.
Footballlive.ng reports that the former striker starred for Wunti, Wikki Tourist, Padova, Chievo Verona, Pistoese, Acimolese and Sansonivo, all in Italy, as well as FC Wintertal of Switzerland, before he retired in 2011.
Hashimu, who was officially introduced to the players and technical crew by the club chairman, Auwalu Baba Jada, also said the appointment is an opportunity for him to controbute to the growth of football in the state.
He added: “My mission in the club is to see the club grows to a greater height. This can only be achieved through hard work, commitment and dedication from every one involved.
“I will work in agreement with the technical crew, because I have limited powers, but I want the players to affirm their total commitment to the club and to their careers.”
